Dear,
Ms.Acevedo
As you handed me that white envelope, and I read the final results. I was outraged. When I came and approached you about your decision, you said I didn't have anything to do with choosing the students, it was the Spain delegates. I say, that's a lie. You are in charge. You're the one who has to take these twelve or fewer students on a four day tour and you have to have the final say. You even mentioned this to our Spanish class over 5 times. When I asked why I wasn't accepted you paused for a long time and said I didn't meet the requirements. I said can you explain what requirements? You still couldn't answer me. Then i said yes i do meet the requirements, i have decent grades, i do academic work on weekends and even attended tutoring for January regents. I continue to say, yes i come to school late and i may slack a little on my homework but that doesn't justify you picking students who are never in school, don't achieve academically, don't take their education seriously instead of me, Ronnae, the one you knew from sixth grade. The one you saw struggle, but trying hard to complete all work. Not being accepted to travel doesn't send a positive message at all. You're basically telling the whole student body, including myself, it's OK to be a slacker and not to work to your potential because you will be rewarded at the end and those who work and fight for a beeter education won't be rewarded.
