'Ello!

During the times of the Jim Crow laws, people were separated due to their skin color. This is closely related to my experience with racism in a minor to major way. While the Mosholu Gang (a gang full of Latinos) were fighting the gang that resides in my building due to the fact they liked the same girl. I got into the middle of the fight because of my relation to my cousin and my skin color. They already did not like blacks for their own personal reasons, but my cousin and his gang allowed them to have someone to release their frustrations. I told myself not to get into anymore fights because my cousin was getting me into more trouble than I needed. The wars had to deal with a fight between two minorities to prove to the rest of the world that we are not worthless and do nothing but fight and argue. What has the world come to?

People are no longer allowed to live their life because of their skin color and it seems that people are being attacked every day. The fights have died down, but there are still others who might start because of what they have been taught since they were little. They are still trying to become a better person, but older influences can be so much stronger than the little voice in their head.
